I bought these to wear while motorcycle riding (recommended to me by other riders). I thought I'd have to buy a size bigger jeans in order to wear them underneath, but to my surprise they fit under my normal riding jeans. The jeans fabric had a little bit of stretch so maybe that helped. The shorts are very comfortable and help me feel a little less jittery about riding, though the only times I've actually hit the ground is at a dead stop! I have hip replacements so the armor, I'm sure, will help absorb some of the impact if (when? lol) it happens again. :)
